Rihanna is to star in a approaching science fiction film about a naval fleet that protects Earth from alien invaders. Rihanna has had seven No 1 singles since her debut album, Music of the Sun, was released in 2005. Her 2007 single Umbrella enjoyed global success, holding the UK No 1 spot for two months, longer than any other single that decade.
According to Variety, Battleship is based on the board game of the same name and is expected to be released on 25 May 2012.
