Rihanna's new album named ‘Rated R’

Rihanna's fourth studio album is set to be released on November 23.

The record, titled 'Rated R', shares its name with Queens Of The Stone Age's second album, released in 2000.

Rihanna's 'Rated R' is the follow-up to 2007's 'Good Girl Gone Bad', and the first single will be 'Russian Roulette', which launches worldwide today (October 20) on radio and at rihannanow.com, the singer's website.
'Russian Roulette' was written and produced by Rihanna's long-term collaborater Ne-Yo. Other songs on the album have been written and produced by the likes of Chase & Status, Stargate, Justin Timberlake, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.

Rihanna joined by Jay-Z in London

Rihanna was joined live on stage by mentor Jay-Z in London tonight (November 16) as she launched new album 'Rated R' at an exclusive live show.

The R&B princess put in a brief but epic performance at Brixton Academy in front of a crowd of competition winners and invited guests. The show was streamed live online by Nokia.

Debuting tracks from 'Rated R', which is released next week, the singer was also joined by rapper .

Taking the stage at shortly after 8pm, the Barbadian singer emerged onto a stage decked out with vintage television sets and silver mannequins. Wearing black fishnets, a black and silver leotard and a lace mask around her face, she jammed with the live band through album intro 'Madhouse', before playing future single 'Wait Your Turn', the song from which the viral album teaser refrain 'The Wait Is Ova' is taken.

The show then began in earnest with a dramatic rendition of new single 'Russian Roulette', throughout which Rihanna sat on a revolving white chair, before miming shooting herself in the head at the finale.

After a selection of hits from breakthrough record 'Good Girl Gone Bad', Rihanna was then joined by Jeezy for the new album track 'So Hard'.

But the main event was saved for the climax. As the opening strains of her recent Jay-Z collaboration opened up, it became apparent that the man himself was in the building, joining Rihanna from the back of the stage to rap his parts on the smash.

Jay-Z remained onstage for his opening sequence on the star’s signature hit 'Umbrella', which brought the show to its dramatic climax.

Rihanna played:

'Madhouse'
'Wait Your Turn'
'Russian Roulette'
'Don’t Stop The Music'
'Take A Bow' / 'Disturbia'
'So Hard'
'Live Your Life'
'Run This Town'
'Umbrella'

Rihanna to discuss Chris Brown assault on TV show

Rihanna has recorded a TV interview in which she discusses last February's assault which led to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown being sentenced to probation and community labour.
The interview, with presenter Diane Sawyer, will air on ABC shows 'Good Morning America' - on Thursday (November 5) at 7am (EST) - and on '20/20' on Friday (6) at 10pm.

Chris Brown recently played his first gig since the February assault, in New Jersey – during which he thanked fans for their support "despite my past".
Rihanna has announced details of a UK arena tour for May next year.

Rihanna in combative mood for new album

PARIS (AFP) – Rihanna pop star is back, blonde and out to have fun after "getting all my emotions out" on new album R Rated. But her guard is still up if tagged as a victim of domestic violence.
To promote the albu at a press conference it was strictly off limits to even mention the controversy dogging her since February, when R&B boyfriend Chris Brown brutally attacked her in Los Angeles on the eve of the Grammy Awards.
The shocking police photo of the singer's bruised face -- Rihanna is also a model and fashion icon -- was leaked to the press, and earlier this month the star said returning to Brown after he had bitten and scratched her during the attack had been a mistake which arose because she was "so far in love."
Well, she's not in love anymore. R Rated was recorded when she was in a "dark" mood, and did a lot of "venting" in the studio. Some tracks allude to the doomed relationship, especially the single Wait Your Turn.
Rihanna played the pop diva at the Paris get together on Thursday, breezing in late and refusing point blank to answer personal questions.
But she was all smiles when it came to talking about fashion, a favourite subject of the Glamour magazine woman of 2009 who has modelled for Gucci and Cover Girl.
Her tip for Parisian ladies this winter is "sexy lingerie", because even when you're all "bundled up you can still be cute when you take it off".
Asked if she thought she scared men away she laughed and suggested, in her rusty, deep voice that maybe "they just don't know how to approach me, so prefer not to".
Rihanna is a breath of fresh air in the size zero fashion world, freely admitting that although her "genetics say I should be low carbs", the junk food is still on the menu. "I'm just not a very disciplined eater".
Her fourth album in four years, which is out on November 23, includes three features: with ex-Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash, the rapper Young Jeezy and will.i.am.
Explaining how the track Photographs came about, she says she heard the tune at will.i.am's studio and even though it was meant for the Black Eyed Peas she said "this song belongs to me!" No surprise she got her way.
Though the 21 year old has gone blonde, and is into creams and whites at the moment, R Rated is the opposite: angry, heavy, combative.
It is more hard rock than chilled out melody, and Rihanna's vocals have a strong, metallic quality on most tracks.
The Barbados born singer says she wanted to bring some of her roots to the music this time, and actually worked to "put my little twang to it".
As for the future, it's a tour next spring, and she plans to take up the guitar (once she's mastered the drums), but "my nails are too long" she admits, and "it will have to wait before I'm ready to give these up".
Rihanna is not just talking about manicures.

Rihanna suspicious of Champagne

Rihanna doesn't take frothy from strangers. While hanging out with a gaggle of assistants and singer James Blount at a party thrown by Vegas nightclub The Bank at Wonderland in LA, the songstress was sent a $10,000 bottle of Champagne by Jets receiver Braylon Edwards and a handful of his teammates, who were at a nearby table. But according to a partygoer, "She didn't know who they were, so she sent it back." Edwards' rep says Braylon later introduced himself and all was well. Also at the club was Mickey Rourke entertaining his girlfriend's mother from Russia.

Brown's assault, aftermath 'humiliating', Rihanna

Rihanna says dealing with the media attention after being assaulted in February by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown was humiliating. But she now hopes to speak for young women who are afraid to talk openly about domestic violence.
The pop star 21 year old told Glamour magazine in an interview posted online Tuesday that the police photo of her bruised face that was leaked to reporters added insult to injury.
After the assault, she awoke to find helicopters circling her house and reporters swarming her street. "I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears," she said.
Rihanna said she felt disappointed and taken advantage of, particularly when she heard that the two officers under investigation for leaking her photo were women.
"I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it's my life," she said.
Rihanna said she didn't realize how much her decisions affected people she didn't know, like her many fans. She feels stronger, wiser and more aware now, she added.
"Domestic violence is a big secret," Rihanna said. "The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that actually isn't heard. Now I can help speak for those women."
Brown, 20, pleaded guilty to felony assault in June. He was sentenced to five years' probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling for the attack, in which he was accused of hitting, choking and biting Rihanna in a rented sports car.
TMZ published the photo of Rihanna's bruised face less than two weeks after the beating, and the LAPD immediately launched an internal investigation of the leak.

The Dream talk about Working on Rihanna's New Song

What he has crafted for Rihanna's new album the Dream currently opened up. Telling MTV, the singer/songwriter shared he has penned two songs for the Barbadian singer. One is called "Rock Star" and the other is titled "Hard". "Me and Rihanna, she just cut the last of the two records we did. It's a record called 'Rock Star'," The Dream said backstage at the Izod Center in New Jersey earlier this week. "The first record is a record called 'Hard,' which features (Young) Jeezy. Both of those records are pretty insane." Rihanna's new album is entitled "Rated R" and will be sent to stores in U.S. on November 23, the same day she will perform at ABC's "Good Morning America". The first single off the effort is "Russian Roulette" and the second single will be Stargate produced song "The Wait Is Ova".

Rihanna's Controversial 'Russian Roulette'

Since hitting the 'net earlier this week, Rihanna's newest single, 'Russian Roulette,' has been categorized as "dark" by some for its violent lyrics. Now the song's writer is coming to the defense of his friend and collaborator. "We just wanted to do something entertaining," explained singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who penned the track. "It's definitely dark, but if you think about it, 'Thriller' was dark, but it was one of the biggest selling records of all time. Our main thing was the entertainment factor of the whole thing. Nobody is really going out and playing Russian roulette or thinking about killing themselves or nothing like that. It was just an interesting topic over a crazy beat and who else to pull that off than somebody like Rihanna?"Unlike their previous work together, 'Take a Bow,' and 'Hate That I Love You,' it seems that as the singer, Rihanna is no longer interested in pondering a broken relationship. This time, she's going straight for the gun and pulling the trigger to prove herself. "You can see my heart beating, you can see it through my chest/ I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving/ I know that I must pass this test," she sings in the song.Ne-Yo says he heard the track and began to visualize the song's concept. "I'm listening to the track, and all I can see is Rihanna and some random person sitting across from each other at the table with a gun sitting in the middle of the table and playing Russian roulette," he said. "And I just started thinking, 'What would go through your mind if you was in that situation?' It just all started coming together, and Rihanna has never been one to be afraid to take a chance, particularly with me. She's always game to do something a little change. I played it for her, and she loved it (we) went in and knocked it out. The rest is history."'Russian Roulette' will be featured on Rihanna's fourth album, 'Rated R,' which is due November 23.Ne-Yo's current outlook is not entirely dark. The singer currently wrote and recorded the song 'Never Knew I Needed' for the forthcoming animated Disney film, 'The Princess and the Frog.'

Washington, Oct 22 (ANI): Chris Brown American singer has revealed that he still has very strong feelings for ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown, 20, had been told to stay at least 100 yards away from the Barbadian singer for the next five years, after he pleaded guilty to assaulting her during a row in February this year.
And while speaking on New York radio station Hot 97 on October 21 he revealed to DJ Angie Martinez that he is still in love with the Umbrella singer.

Rihanna not Justin Timberlake's lover

RIHANNA has tracked down Jessica Biel's phone number to tell her that the rumours of anything between her and Justin Timberlake are strictly untrue. “Rihanna doesn’t want to be pegged a homewrecker, She loves Justin, but only as a friend.” says the friend. “Rihanna apologized over the ridiculous nonsense that’s been printed. Rihanna has been cheated on in the past, and one thing she would never do is take another woman’s guy. Sure, she and Justin are close, he’s producing her CD.” Timberlake's personal life has been the subject of argument for some time. The SexyBack star has been dating Jessica Biel since 2007, but the couple's relationship is rumoured to have hit a rough patch.

His grandmother Sadie Bomar has apparently cast doubts on their romance, insisting that Justin is single and has no long term plans with the Easy Virtue actress.
Meanwhile Rihanna has been wowing Paris, where she is a guest of the city's fashion week, with a series of raunchy outfits that have been the talk of the City of Lights.

Chris Brown Asks Rihanna For Another Chance

Chris Brown must be really heartbroken to do something like this! He has reached out to Rihan to naask her to give him another chance. He has reportedly written on his Twitter: "MY HEART IS INCOMPLETE... the part that is complete is my love for fans, career, friends, family... God. But I’m missing someone or something." But Chris didn’t stop there! He then linked the message to a YouTube video of his song “Changed Man,” and featured a series of pictures of him and Rihanna together. He also wrote on Twitter, "Sorry all, just one of those days." The lyrics of “Changed Man” include: "Daily / I’ve been waiting / For the time to pass / and let it fade in.” "They looking at you / Telling you / We need to break it up / You need to trust what you do / It’s you and me my love / But Ima make it up to you / And show the world / I’m a changed man." It seems like Rihanna has been trying her best to move on from him, so we’re not sure how she’ll react to this blatant plea. But we have to remember that less than a year ago these two were inseparable. Should Rihanna ever take Chris back??

Rihanna speaks after photo leaked

Pop star Rihanna has issued a statement thanking fans for their support after an alleged assault by her R&B singer boyfriend Chris Brown.

However, she declined to comment on a leaked photograph which appears to show her with facial injuries.

"At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown," the star said via her spokesperson.

"She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong."
'Saddened'

Brown was questioned by police on 8 February over a complaint of assault.

Police said the 19-year-old got into an argument with an unidentified woman in a parked car in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, which escalated after they left the vehicle.

Both Brown and Rihanna pulled out of that night's Grammy awards, where they had been due to perform.

He has since said he was "sorry and saddened" by the incident and was seeking counselling.

Prosecutors have asked police to provide more information before deciding what charges, if any, to pursue against him

Rihanna Still in Love With Chris Brown

Rihanna could date all the guys she wants to, but according to new reports her heart still belongs to Chris Brown. She is apparently still in love with Chris Brown who has to stay 100ft away from her for 5 years according to his probation. “She gets missing Chris and the s**t starts all over,” a source told OK! Magazine. “A kiss and a slap, a kiss and a slap. Right now, she’s feeling strong. But she’s switched gears in the past and taken him back.” No matter how much she loves him it's probably best she stay away from him for the time being. Rihanna didn't even think the restraining order was necessary. “Though Rihanna does not object to the sentence, she did feel it was unnecessary to have the restraining order in place for five years,” Rihanna's lawyer said.“She really doesn’t see the necessity of keeping an entire football field-length between them,” an insider added. “She’s forgiven him. And he is remorseful.” Chris recently revealed that he is still in love Rihanna as well. Do you guys think Chris and Rihanna will get back together?

Jon Bream of the Star Tribune commented the custom of Madonna and Janet Jackson, Rihanna has become the video vixen of the '00s ... Rihanna has ideally the pout, the rangy strut and trend-setting hairdos that stay women and men alike examination her out on YouTube." George Epaminondas of InStyle considers Rihanna's music videos to be "cinematic" due to her "blend of lush island rhythms and swinging pop and ... mischievous sensuality."
